Morgan’s going to fire 50 to 60 equity research analysts in the U.S. and Europe, out of a base of about 800, reported Bloomberg and the WSJ.
The axe is going to come down this week, according to a memo cited in the Bloomberg article. The article also notes that Morgan Stanley is planning on hiring analysts to cover Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
