Le Cirque 10,000,000,000

I’d never been to Le Cirque 2000 before it shut down in early ‘05, but the place and the name always evoked “MEGA” to me. Of course now that it’s 2006, anything with “2000″ smacks of the word smack — that is, it’s ultra dated. That, or it belongs on an awning for a cell phone shop or a sad nail salon.
Anyway, it’s dropped the “2000″ and is now reopening in a new location at One Beacon Court at 151 East 58th Street, reports a number of pubs. (See Bloomberg, NYMag)
The restaurant will be having a special fabulous people-only bash on May 18, but the restaurant will open for business on May 30 for the pleebs.
Size: 95-seats with a 65-seat cafe
Cuisine: traditional French & Italian food
Dress code: tieless is A-OK, but “only if they have someone beautiful with them,” owner Maccioni told Bloomberg.
“Le Cirque has always been a place where the worlds of food, fashion, art and culture converge,” (Maccioni on the Le Cirque website)
Which world are you in?
