Zidane: The World Continues to Wonder…

Will we ever know what Matterazi said to Zidane? The BBC has a translation of an Canal Plus interview with Zidane, who said Matterazi said “very hard words” about Zizou’s mother and sister. The latest is that Matterazi denies talking about Zidane’s mother or “religion, politics or racism” for that matter. Here’s an excerpt of the translated interview:

Interviewer: About your mother and your sister?

Zinedine Zidane: Yes. They were very hard words. You hear them once and you try to move away.

But then you hear them twice, and then a third time… I am a man and some words are harder to hear than actions. I would rather have taken a blow to the face than hear that.

Interviewer: He said these things about your mother and sister two or three times?

Zinedine Zidane: Yes. I reacted and of course it is not a gesture you should do. I must say that strongly.

Meanwhile it seems that that statement by SOS Racism that Matterazi called Zidane a “dirty terrorist” is being discredited in favor of even more insulting remarks. Various arms of the BBC have come up with two other alternate Matterazi statements.

BBC Radio Five Live’s deaf lip reader and Italian translator combo came up with this: “you’re the son of a terrorist whore

Meanwhile the BBC’s Ten O’Clock News cited television footage experts who said “Materazzi told Zidane to ‘calm down‘ before accusing him of being a ‘liar‘ and wished ‘an ugly death to you and your family.’ This was followed by ‘Go f*** yourself.’”

ZZ’s not a good fighter, Wayne Rooney of England did a much better job when laying out the Portugese guy with a well=-placed boot in the groin, also the Italian who assualted McBride of US, (same guy who ZZ headbutted?) demonstrated superior skills. Remember, the French can’t fight!
