actually, the market you are talking about, which was described in a recent WSJ article, isn’t so nascent and has a much longer term investment horizon than a single season- investors pay a share of the transfer rights for the player and then hope that, over time, the player demonstrates enough success that a larger, more wealthy club will pay even more for the rights to said player, at which point the investors get cashed out.
