Bespoke in Nolita for You Dapper, Dapper Dandies

Nolita is bursting with stylish bespoke outfits, according to an article out of Departures mag (out of Amex Publishing), some that we have visited and others that we have not.
- Barker Black at 198 Elizabeth St (btwn Prince & Spring) will make bespoke shoes starting next fall, but until then offers off-the-rack styles in your choice of material/color. Prices quoted in the article range from close to a thousand to several thou.
- Duncan Quinn at 8 Spring St is run by a British expat offering an “attractive mix of impeccably turned-out corporate lawyer and rock-and-roll rogue.” Judging from their website, that description sounds about right. Ties and accessories seem a bit more edgy than the suits, which look nice enough. Custom shirts start at $275 and take 8 weeks, suits start at $2,750 and take 12 weeks.
- Seize sur Vingt at 243 Elizabeth also offers bespoke shirts and suits, slightly cheaper and faster than DQ above: 4 weeks and $190 for shirts; 8 weeks at $2,000 get you started with the suits. Their sister label Troglodyte Homunculus has a shirt called “I Know You’re Rich.” I’ve actually stepped in this place before. Nice shirts (off the rack are in the $150 - $200 range).
- Lord Willy’s at 223 Mott. What distinguishes a Lord Willy’s shirt? Well for one, a “narrower sleeve. Not advisable for those about to embark on a course of steroids.” Custom shirts take 3 weeks / $240; suits 10 weeks / $2,900. And in case your Daddy never taught you…
P.S. Where YOU said you bought your shirts:
