Yes, it’s back to work and back to BBalle. But for some, work seems more like play. The NYT has a piece on the new Chelsea offices of Google, where free food is not the only perk, but a big one.

Pool, video — games abound. Other perks include lockers, showers and phone booths for those pesky personal calls. Phone booths seem the best innovation for those in cubeland, but I have a hunch that those of you on the Street would rather take your perks in the form of cold, hard cash. (How much more $ for that health insurance???)

What else? Jealous types, take heart. Googlers don’t seem to be a very fashionable bunch. One employee, described as wearing in a brown Gap sweater is according to the article “among the best dressed on campus.” And the food may be free but comes with a price — weight gain. How very bankerly.
