Are You Ready for EXCEL 2007???!!!!!

Are you ready for 1 MILLION ROWS, 16,000 columns?
Are you ready for the Ribbon?
Are you ready for smaller spreadsheet file sizes???
What about better, easier pivot tables?
Then you might be ready for Excel 2007.
Well, it sounds like from the articles I’ve been reading on Office 2007 (and Excel 2007) that the program is much better when it comes to data representation and formatting. I tried to give it a test drive but got fed up with the sign up process.
Anyway, the chart and pivot table functionality is supposed to be much improved, but as Heavy Excel Users know the big question is will the keyboard shortcuts remain the same?
It appears that Microsoft developers classify shortcuts into two categories — true shortcuts, and keyboard accelerators, which is more like using the keys to access stuff buried deep down in their menus (i.e. Alt + E + S + V = Paste Special)
While the Shortcuts (they say there are 214 of them) seem to be intact in this new version (and here’s a handy PDF to print out, the Keyboard Accelerators look like they will change, my friends.
That’s right, gone for good. Pour a forty out for old Alt + E + S + V (now Alt + Ctrl + V!!!). Which seems to make sense given that they are doing away with the old menu system in favor of something called the Ribbon, which will be throughout all of Office. But I wonder, did those over at Microsoft think about whether it makes sense for bankers?
Oh, and one last major thing: there’s a new default file type for Office. The new software can read old file versions, but not vice-versa. Here’s an explanation.

I’m a banker, I’ve been working on Excel last 5 years day and night. I can tell you, this new Excel, is HELL for bankers. Many functionalities are down, it’s not compatible anymore… example: styles are fuck up (you need to use your mouse), colours are not in the file anymore (in your excel), when you paste a graph in powerpoint you have to maket your paste special shortcut very slowly, and when you resize your graph, your screen shows you two graphs.. you have to move on slide down and the again up to see a normal slide again. I can’t tell you how much I’m disappointed. Excel was my best friend until now… today, it’s my worst ennemy!
