Yes, we have heard of the book “Liar’s Poker” but believe it or not a) have not read it and b) didn’t know it was based on a game by that same name. In fact, we just thought it was a book, and not a game. Anyway, guess what — we found out it seems there are a few people out there who also don’t know this. So here, for the rest of you that are just out of it, is how to play liar’s poker.
1. Equipment: Get some bills — a lot of them. The denomination is up to you, however you should keep in mind that whatever you are using, be prepared to pay out __ x number of players in each round of this game.
2. Fold the bill in a quarter with the serial number exposed to just yourself. I suppose it’s not so important how it’s folded, so half would be OK, as well. The point is to keep from showing the other players, just like with cards.
3. Cards: Your cards are essentially the serial numbers on this bill. Count how many of each digit you have.
5. Betting: The point is very similar to another card game called “President.” Essentially, you make a bet with limited information about how many of a given digit the entire table has collectively. So in this case (see picture), I could start with the bet that the table has 2 zeros which would be a 100% safe bet, knowing that I have two zeros.
The next person can either choose to (a) call my bet into question via the “challenge” (i.e., accuse me of lying) or (b) raise the stakes with a bigger bet. A bigger bet in this case is either a greater quantity of the same digit (3 zeros) or the same quantity of a higher digit (2 ones).
Note: zeros are equivalent to face cards, and ones are equivalent to faces. Thus, the order of supremacy goes:
lowest 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,1 highest
6. Challenging: All parties must agree to the challenge for the challenge (everyone shows their cards) to occur.
7. Strategy & Probability: Wizards of Odds

Wrong 0’s are 10′’s or face cards in comparative value and 1’s are Aces.
