Power Shoes

There’s been a lot of attention paid to appropriate financier footwear recently. Whether it’s the revelation that real City rainmakers don’t wear brown shoes (but they do use brown dildos), to Kenneth Cole’s hedge, mutual (and ladies hedge!) fund shoes, it’s clear there are others making the link between FOOTWEAR and POWER besides us. As for KC, BBalle has dissed their chunky footwear before, but the existence of Hedge Fund Shoes makes me think there is some serious brainstorming going on there.

Anyway, NYMag has a series of shoe articles, all in an easily digestible list and illustration form, from Five Simple Rules to a toe-to-toe between a pair of Bass cheapies and a $500 pair of banker-fave J.M. Westons.

Things we learned: don’t wear square-toed shoes; black lace-ups paired with grey socks go with 90% of formal occasions; and yes, the Westons are worth it.
