At Your Service: Paying People to Do Stuff for You & Cell Phone Concierges

Want to look like that happy dude over there? We’ve recently found out about two new timeshare concierge-style services that seem set on making the faces of busy young professionals look precisely like that, except with a nose.
UrbanMinute and Ask Sunday both seem to offer similar services — answering queries, helping with reservations, looking stuff up online — as well as time and messenger services for an additional fee. UrbanMinute certainly seems geared towards the finance crowd, offering plans ranging from the lowly “VP” ($100/mo) to the “Partner” ($150/mo). Ask Sunday’s plans range from $29/mo to $49/mo.
For those with more discrete needs, AskMeNow, which has been around for several years, is for those times when waiting for that damned hourglass on your Blackberry for another 10 seconds will make your head explode.
A new entrant, which comes with a cell phone and is $200/year month, is Voce, billing itself as a premium wireless service, the main benefit of which seems to be a 24/7 assistant.
And then there’s always the full-service Quintessentially, which you have to apply for and come with some pretty hefty fees ($1,500 for the most basic plan in 2005).

I was introduced to Ask Sunday about a month ago and thought I would never need a service like this. I can’t tell you how many times it has come in handy with mundane tasks I just don’t feel like doing and am completely hooked now.

Did you post this info because you don’t know how to answer the question about “are making $1 in 2.”?
