Senior Analysts in Demand Among Hedge Funds

Analysts with seven to ten years of experience are in high demand in the current market, as are people with high-yield and distressed investing experience.

While hiring overall has begun to slow down, the market’s hot for those situated right beneath the portfolio manager level, explains a recruiter to industry pub, HedgeWorld. And for those looking to return to a more stable investing environment, (apparently those in the class of 2002), traditional asset managers could use alternative asset expertise for business development. Says the recruiter:

“Traditional managers want to establish more competitive alternative investment platforms, what we call a strategic build-out. People who will play this strategic role have to be well-rounded. They must be able to communicate investment strategy
to clients and potential investors, have the drive to develop a business and the people skills to build an investment team.”
