Portrait of Bloomberg As a Young Man

Back in Bloomberg’s day, the motto wasn’t so much “work hard, play hard,” but a slight variation of it — “play hard/work hard.”

It’s good to know some things haven’t changed.

“In the memoir, Mr. Bloomberg — who is now 65 — repeatedly noted that his young bachelor years were filled with partying. After graduating from Harvard Business School in 1966, he settled in New York and spent the next decade in a ‘play hard/work hard’ mode, he wrote on Page 209. “As a bachelor, who traveled with a big expense account, I had a girlfriend in every city, skied in every resort, ate in every four-star restaurant, and never missed a Broadway play.” (emphasis added)

A man after my own heart and he still has good taste in women. His long time girlfriend, Diana Taylor, was once a client of mine (back when she was the CFO of LIPA) and even in person she is a good looking woman for her age, not to mention wicked smart and gracefully charming.
