Much like young crack dealers in the early 90’s and young bankers, hedge funders with 0-4 years experience get shafted on compensation in hopes of one day making bank. The gap is huge in funds with $10+ billion under management.

i certainly hope folks with 4 years of experience are making more than ~$350k per year. (maybe the 0-1 years are skewing the results in that segment). a 4th year banker is making more than that.

this looks like similar to a survey put up by the alpha magazine a few months ago. it put senior analyst comp at $150k to $1.4M+.
can’t recall the exact junior analyst, junior PM, or senior PM ranges, but there was tremendous variation.
