Or install via destop at http://sourceforge.net/projects/blackberrytools. You have to enter an 8-digit city code. For New York it’s USNY0996, for other cities you’ll have to look it up (it’s in the URL at http://www.weather.com/.

3. Instant Messenger: Browse on over to either GoogleTalk, Yahoo Messenger or AIM

4. WSJ Mobile: The WSJ Mobile service has been improving.

5. Securing Blackberry Geekdom: Sign up for the Owners Lounge (US) or Owners Lounge (EU) to get discounts off downloads and some free ones as well.

6. Stock Quotes: MarketFilter has a free tool — download via your Blackberry at http://www.marketfilters.com/widgets/v2/MarketFilters.jad.

7. Blackberry Games: Download a free version of Checkers at the BB Owners Lounge. Or a black-and-white version of Texas Hold ‘Em. Or if you feel like shelling out about $10, both Magmic and Bplay have games.
