Investment Banking Layoffs at Merrill?
By BankersBall on Mar 25, 2008 in Cube Life, Layoffs
Cuts in the bank’s investment banking group may be in the offing.
Merrill’s investment banking unit could take a 10-15% cut, or approximately 300 out of 2,100 bankers, anonymous sources close to the bank tell TraderDaily.
The unnamed sources say that “high-level bankers” are likely to get cut.
Anyone at Merrill hear anything?

Does anyone have a sense of what groups/ levels would be hit? Is Tech insulated in anyone’s opinion?

Asia looks more insulated as this continues to be growth area. US and Europe expected to be hit harder. No whisper on size of cuts yet
