Blackberry Shortcuts, Tips & Tricks #6

A solution to add a signature only sometimes.

There are two types of people in the world: those who have signatures at the end of all of their emails, and those who take the time to sign each and every one of their emails. And within the those who have signatures group, there are those who spend a significant portion of their workdays tweaking their signatures in imperceptible ways.

Yes, in reality, we realize some of you have to have a signature, but it does get pretty damned annoying for those internal-only emails. And even more so when using your Blackberry. Here’s a way to quickly add it to the emails you need to.

Step 1: Options > AutoText
Step 2: Select New
Step 3: Under “Replace” use some kind of letter sequence that’s both easy to type and that you’ll never use, i.e. zzzz
Step 4: Under “With” add your signature.
Step 5: Save.
Step 6: Compose an email, type zzzz and hit Enter.

Good one. Been doing it for years. Auto text is a great and underutilized tool.
