trying to be strategic/positive,might try move into a corp finance role involved with biz dev where he can help evaluate deals. then, work that route into a vc or boutique i-bank role related to his industry.

no real substance to resume. need more quantification/descriptions of accomplishments. # of deals reviewed, size of holdings, etc. mba from a bigger name school wouldn’t hurt or CFA.

    just my $.02.

I’m sorry, man but you don’t have a shot in hell in this market. You can try and beg for an unpaid internship at a boutique or at a tiny hedge fund but even that is a long shot. The formatting on this resume is awful and it is almost laughable. I don’t intend to be mean but nobody cares about how much you worked in college! Seriously though, take whatever job you can get, have some fun and then apply to a TOP 10 b-school in a few years. That’s your only shot.

If you could work 65hrs/wk as a full-time student and get a 3.8 GPA, your schoolwork must have been damn easy.

You’re not going to use Perl, PHP, Windows Server, etc as a banker. Saying you know Office is like saying you know how to breathe. Take that stuff off and put more specifics in your experience section.

absolutely no shot. Maybe at a tiny firm with two bankers if they like you personally. Go with Monkey Business’s recs.

P.S. I hate resumes with an “objective.” Some people like them, but I think they are completely retarded. I know what your objective is, you are applying for a job.

I know a guy who works 40 hours a week while studying electric engineering (6years program in latin america) and has good grades ( not close to 3.8 tho )…
But the guy is completely nuts , he has no friends , i m pretty sure he never had a gf.
so each time i see someone who has a high gpa while working , i think either he´s a psycho or he´s just lying.

sorry for my spelling, i´m not a native english speaker.

btw how can you have such a high gpa and still get so crappy jobs.

agreed this is absolutely awful. two sh*t schools, bad experience (the description of what you did is not well written at all).

try to go to top 10 b-school is best shot

You’re right, but it shows you will easily be able to master the simple Excel bullshit you’re required to produce as an analyst.

Other than that, I agree with the other comments. How the fuck did you work that many hours and get a 3.8? Doesn’t say much for St. Peter University.

so despite all the negative feedback I have redid my resume and have two offers on the table….a) BB I-Bank doing operations with exposure to middle office (for top performers) and b) small private equity company doing mezzanine, acquisition financing, construction financing, recapitalization, and buy out (I would be analyzing the portfolio to insure profitability etc……c) I spoke to a recruiter and he said he can get me in a corporate finance job for a fortune 100 company, but def not a bank due to the market

I plan on going to a top ten b-school…after an MBA in a couple years which of my available options would look better? I am assuming the PE job would…
