Tell Us Something About HBS That We Didn’t Already Know
By BankersBall on Aug 18, 2008 in Cube Life
A journalist (and HBS grad) is out with a book about his experiences with MEGASSEs: “megalomaniacal, self-sustaining elite”
Let’s say you were accepted to Harvard Business School. What would you expect your next two years to be like? Partying? Surely. Costumes? Yep, we went over that one. What about a hefty dose of arrogant and entitled people? Par for the course.
So let’s just say that the ground covered by Ahead of the Curve , a new book by journalist Philip Delves Broughton, doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, at least to this audience.
Some of the “exposés”:
* the “M” mafia: students seem to come from McKinsey, the military, or the Mormon community
* there are faux international people
* it’s helpful to know Excel
* two modes: “frat boy” or “deadly serious”
* the business school BMW (use savings to buy a BMW and get more financial aid in return)
Anyone out there have something really juicy?
