Profile

Boutique investment bank headquartered in Los Angeles targeting the middle market. Offices in New York, Boston and Chicago. Started in 2007 and headed by ex-UBS investment banking head Kenneth D. Moelis.

As of September 2008, listed 108 investment professionals on its website (48 of which were analysts, associates or vice presidents). In an August 2008 article in the LAT, Moelis said he expected to bring the total number of employees up from 130 to 160 and was “looking overseas.”

The firm hired MD Greg Share away in August of 2008 from Fortress Investment Group in an effort to build out its PE business.
