The Money Chase, an HBS Documentary

Learn about all the insider speak.

Do you know what a “pit diver” is? What about a “cold call”? Well get ready. CNBC will unravel the mysteries of that prestige factory, Harvard Business School, in a documentary premiering Thursday, December 17th @ 10pm,  1a ET.

Video clips on their site explain some of the HBS terminology, like “Chip shot” (a lame attempt at classroom discussion).

We don’t know if they cover “FOMO“, but of course you read it here first. Not to mention tips on where to sit at HBS. And of course, our coverage of a real live HBS commencement.

We also have it from a forwarded email from an HBS official that the documentary was “filmed throughout the fall, [and] focuses on the impact the School has had over the last hundred years.”

Since we know many of you jobless people are probably applying to B-school, satisfy yourself with repeated viewings of the three preview clips over and over while marveling at Jamie Dimon’s boyish face.

Two titans of finance on their HBS experience:

“There were three every night, and you had to learn how to do them. You know, you could spend eight hours on a case. So, you know, if you really want– if you’re one of those people who wants to know every little fact about every little case, you would be up all night. So you have to learn how to be efficient, and get to where you’re going, and answer things quickly.” - Jamie Dimon

“If you’re scared to speak out and take a stand on things you will not succeed at Harvard Business School. So for people who were, I’d call them on the border line, who aren’t used to doing that type of activity it brought them out. And it made them more self confident…or, in a few cases it broke them.”  - Steve Schwarzman
